Checkers and Dotty ( ages 4-6) - Through story telling and displacement, puppets guide small children through the grief experience.
Nurse Rosy (ages 7-9)- A wise and nurturing puppet guides school age children through the grief experience.
Risen Heart the Light Within (Pre-teens and Teens-two groups)- Using candles, music and memorializing rituals, teens and pre-teens come to terms with their grief.
Parent’s Guardians Group-Adults are educated about the grief experience of children and their own personal bereavement.
After care group for those who have attended the family grief support groups.

month, at Gabby’s Ladder from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Please call for more information.

Sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association, Gabby’s Ladder, and Mercy Memorial Hospital System.
In addition to the grief support groups, Gabby’s Ladder provides the
following services:
1. Short term grief
counseling for children, adults and families.
2. Suicide Depression
Prevention programs for teens and pre-teens in the schools.
3. Individual classroom
grief support in the schools.
4. In-services to
help teachers work with grieving and/or dying children in the classrooms.
5. Crisis
intervention programs for the community when a tragedy occurs.
6. Bereavement
Lending library for the public.
